Hekari made a statement in NSL opener

The Hekari Unted FC have risen to the occasion and thrashed the Central Amoana FC with a comprehensive 12-0 victory in the opening clash of the Women’s National Soccer League at the Sir John Guise Stadium on Saturday, 1st of July, 2023.

The 2023 inaugural Oceania Football Confederation Women’s Champions League runners-up maintained their form and blew the Central ladies off the park.

Hekari went to the pitch with all guns blazing and scored goals left, right, center. It was like a match between women and girls. It was indeed a one-way traffic contest.

The head coach of Hekari, Erickson Komeng was pleased and happy with his team’s dominant performance.

“After the OFC Tournament, we were looking forward to playing NSL. The girls were hungry to play this game; hence the result has shown their dominant performance. I am really happy for the win but we still have a long season to go,” coach Komeng said.

Round 2 of the Women’s National Soccer League continues next weekend at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
