Hekari defeat Solomon Island in OFC Opener

The Hekari United FC kicked off their campaign in style to secure a 2-0 victory over Solomon Warriors in their first match of the OFC Men’s Champions League in Tahiti on Sunday, 12th May, 2024.

Hekari managed to score twice in the second half to defeat the Warriors. In the first half, Hekari was close to kicking in goals but missed a few shots.

They broke the deadlock in the 70th minute when Ati Kepo scored the first goal with a powerful strike. A few minutes later, Rex Naime sliced another goal in the 82nd minute, sealing a 2-0 win over the Warriors.

With the earlier match between Rewa FC and Auckland City FC tying 2-2, Hekari United are now in the box seat in Group A as they seek a semi-final berth.
