The Hekari United FC have thrashed the Souths Hinamo FC with a convincing 6-1 victory at the PNG Football Stadium this afternoon to continue their perfect winning record in the Women’s Conference League this season.
Hekari wasted no time and scored 2 goals in 20 minutes. Hinamo responded and scored a goal to reduce the deficit to 2-1. Right on the stroke of half-time, Hekari scored their third goal through beautiful teamwork and took a handy 3-1 lead over Hinamo at the break.
The second half was a one-sided affair, as the red army picked up their momentum and scored 3 unanswered goals, blowing the struggling Hinamo outfit off the park with a clinical 6-1 performance.
Meanwhile, the Hekari men’s team smashed the Highlands United FC 4-1 in Lae this afternoon at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
Interestingly, both Hekari’s men's and women's teams are sitting first on the ladder in their respective competitions.
