Gordon Manub named new CEO/General Secretary for PNGFA


Gordon Manub has been named new CEO/General Secretary for PNG Football Association last week during a press conference held at the Sir John Guise Stadium, Port Moresby.


Presented at the conference were PNGFA President John Kapi Nato, Acting General Secretary and PNGFA Legal Counsel Dan Kakaraya, incoming General Secretary Gordon Manub and other officers from PNGFA.

Manub took over from former General Secretary Pius Letenge who resigned due to illness.

“I’d like to thank the President and his executive committees for giving me the opportunity and confidence to take on this role. Football being one of the most played sports in the world and also in Papua New Guinea, the challenge is now on me to take on and lead into the future,” said Gordon Manub after PNG FA President John Kapi Nato officially made the announcement of his role.


President Kapi Nato also thanked Dan Kakaraya for his service during the 6 months of being the Acting CEO.

“I commend him for the great job he has done in holding the organization for the last 6 months as an Acting Secretary, maintaining the Secretary Office of PNG FA with our partners,” praised President Kapi Nato.


‘I am very pleased, going forward and I am very happy that now we have a new appointee,” President Kapi Nato said.

“I think PNG FA is in good hands given his vast experience in the corporate world. He has also been involved in soccer as the president for PMSA”, added Kapi Nato.



Meanwhile, Mr. Dan Kakaraya, outgoing Acting CEO thank PNGFA for giving him the opportunity to act on this role while awaiting the appointment of the new General Secretary.


“It is an honor to serve football and in this capacity as the Acting CEO contributing to the growth and development of Football in PNG,” he said.

Furthermore, Mr. Manub expressed his appreciation to PNG FA for the confidence in him to lead and also extends his thanks to the 18 presidents of the member associations in PNG and also the Football fraternity in regards to his contract terms in the coming years.


“I take this position as a privilege and an honor and I am very humbled to be given this opportunity to take on from where the past acting CEO has started to lay the foundation for leading PNG into the future in terms of Football,” said Mr. Manub and new PNGFA CEO.1.
