Cassowaries Claim Boroko Motors Isuzu T20 Smash

The Cassowaries were crowned the 2026 Boroko Motors Isuzu T20 Smash Men’s Champions after pulling off a thrilling six-wicket victory over Mariners on Saturday, 28 March, at Amini Park.

In a high-stakes, fast-paced contest, the two teams locked horns and battled for supremacy, where the Cassowaries edged out the spirited Mariners in a nail-biter.  

The Mariners set a target of 109 runs, finishing their innings at 108 all out in 19 overs. However, the Cassowaries led a confident batting performance and chased the total successfully in 19.3 overs, finishing on 110/4.

Lega Siaka starred with the bat for the Cassowaries, scoring 45 runs off 38 balls, including 3 boundaries and 1 six, maintaining an impressive strike rate of 118.42.

Hila Vare contributed a solid 24 runs before being dismissed by Oru, setting a steady foundation for the chase, with Arua Gau being named the man of the match. 

The team’s strategic approach and calm under pressure ensured a smooth chase, delighting fans and those following the live broadcast online.
