Athletics PNG name Final Team for Pacific Games

Athletics PNG has made a final selection of its squad that will be part of Team PNG for the upcoming Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands, from November 19th to December 2nd, 2023.

The team is made up of twenty-four males, eleven female athletes, and ten para-athletes who will be taking part in different field events.

The male athletes that have been selected are:

Emmanuel Anis, Benjamin Aliel, Wilford Baia, Daniel Baul, Lakona Gerega, Dilu Goiye, James Kua Dua, Karo Iga, Suine Kagl, Leroy Kamau, Simbai Kaspar, Adolf Kauba, Robert Stringer, Robert Oa, William Passinghan, William Peka, Kenny Peter, Juteis Robinoson, Lot Samare, Israel Takap, Eldan Toti, Aquila Turalom, Emmanuel Wanga and Pais Wisil.

While the female athletes are:

Isila Apkup, Leonie Beu, Edna Boafob, Scholastica Herman, Rellie Kaputin, Mary Kua, Christina Moiyang, Adrine Monagi, Mary Tenge, Sharon Toako and Salome Yaling.

Unfortunately, PNG sprint queen Toea Wisil won't be representing PNG in this coming Pacific Games due to personal reasons.

Moreover, the Para-athletes’ names will be announced and released at a later date.
